A modern-day tale of fortune in the West Texas oil rig world. Generally, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and conclude agreements with landowners who own mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent, essentially, they manage the land and secure leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like the foreman of a construction site, they build roads, supervise workers’ living quarters (man camp), assemble excavators, and drill wells, especially in remote locations. They are also part Fixer, Problem Solver and Facilitator.. CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022) This could have easily been rated 8.5 – 9. Ex-Wife/Mother. They serve no purpose to the plot and are simply annoying and insulting to the women of West Texas. A far west Texas man I understand where Sheridan is coming from, but this is dangerous. West Texas women are some of the strongest, most ambitious women I know. Now, aside from that, the writing and acting are excellent. Sheridan easily has another Yellowstone on his hands if he gets off the embarrassing interfamilial horns. But then again, I love Sheridan’s writing (and acting) and for the most part a very enjoyable show.
