First of all, a few words about Cross Fire. This is a tactical network FPS – in fact, a clone Counter-STRIKE , But completely sharpened under the online and laid on a conditionally payable basis. Cross Fire is not able to surprise with modern graphics, but easily goes on medium -fitting computers. Usually Cross Fire is praised for good balance and for a thoughtful design of cards.
Cross Fire has several modes. For example, "Survival" : two teams destroy each other for a while or for a certain number of murders. "Team Battle" : one team is trying to lay a bomb, the other impedes this. "Mutation" : At the beginning of the game, one or more players turn into mutants, and the fascinating pursuit of mutants begins behind the rest of the server players. And we note another regime "Ghosts" – with almost invisible terrorists.

We bring to your attention an interview with the best domestic Cross Fire team – ru.Legends. "Legends" became the winners of all online and lan-tournaments on the Russian localization of Cross Fire, winners " The battles of two cities "(A tournament in which 8 teams from Moscow and St. Petersburg took part), as well as European champions according to the version Wogl (The World Online Gaming League), prestigious World Tournament.
It was these victories, as well as the confidence that these achievements of the guys are far from the last, prompted us to talk with ru.Legends heart to heart.
The combat composition of the Ruulegends team, from left to right: Ikram, IMBO, Hilka, Bazha, Varia.
Tell us to start yourself and about how you started playing Cross Fire?
Peter [Baza]: I started playing shooters in 1999, of course, the first game was CS, which, however, quickly fed up. He began his way in Cross Fire in September 2010, at first he played for his pleasure – and now, after some time, I already in ru.Legends. I live in Moscow.
Max [Impbo]: I live in the city of Solnechnogorsk. I study in Zelenograd, in the college of Moscow State University (Moscow State Academy of Business Administration). Having downloaded and losing the game all night, I realized that this is mine. Almost immediately there was a desire to create a strong team.
Sergey [Hilka]: I live in the city of Zhukovsky, I work. My nickname Hilka means a doctor, healer, cleric. Started, like the base, also with CS.
What game devices do you use when playing and what you dream?
Peter: Mouse – Microsoft Inellimouse Explorer 3.0 (mouse since 2003), rug – Steelseries QcK+Heavy, Keyboard – Steelseries 6GV2, External Sound card – USB Icemat, headphones – Plantronics 777.
Max: Steelseries 7h – headphones, mouse – Steelseries Xai, rug – Steelseries Heavy.
Sergey: Microsoft 3.0 and there is also Razer Deathadder, Thermaltake headphones, I liked them, sometimes I use Plantronic 840.
Ikram at the Two Cities tournament.
What is the difference between a good player and cool?
Peter: Incorrect definition of players, let's introduce the concept of “professional”, it will be easier to explain what the difference is. A professional plays his head, in any game you have to think; accordingly, in order to win, you need to think better than the enemy. I will not talk about shooting, and it is clear that it should be at a good level. And, of course, the feeling of the elbow, which the “pro” has been developed quite strongly, and people who have long played the game for different teams interact most efficiently in any mix and new team.
Max: Better to say – a good player from a professional. The fact that the pros play not only in shooting, but play the brain. Trying to breed the enemy or catch him on errors.
Sergey: There is no such thing – good from the cool. Good from a professional. Good-and so everything is clear, and a professional is responsible for this, he knows what is needed for tightening skill or something.
What weapons do you prefer and what you consider to be noobsky?
Peter: I prefer M4A1, AVM, and, in principle, I can shoot from any weapon. But I consider Nubsky to K2, "Scar" and "Beretta".
Max: I prefer M4A1 + AWP. But I think K2, Scar Light and AWP. Every Nub can play with AWP, standing at the base and depending on some passage. And in general – playing Cross Fire with AWP is quite easy to play, t.To. The passages on the maps are narrow, and the players are large model. Easy to get.
Sergey: I choose M4, AK47, SG, AVM. Against K2 and Donat-fitting.
How much money does your game take to the game per month, what do you spend on?
Peter: Soap, for dispersion and defuser.
Max: It happens that I can start equipment for a month for 410 krd. And so, in principle, I will not be able to.
Sergey: Maximum – 100 rubles!
How about searching a sponsor for the team?
Max: In principle, we have already received a proposal from a good European organization, but we refused, t.To. They could not offer us anything worthwhile. We only need one from the sponsor – support and incentive in the form of a salary. Then we will have an incentive to win and achieve success on world championships. As well as the incentive will be cash prizes in tournaments. And with that and that at the moment there are some difficulties.
Whether the cyber port should be represented among the Olympic species?
Peter: ESISTORS – a sport in which reaction, thinking, will are important. The same components as in any other sport. It would be good, but it is difficult to draw a bright and logical parallel between cyber and traditional sports. Therefore, it is not necessary to expect that he will be officially included in the list of the Olympic Games. At the moment, WCG performs this function – and, it seems to me, not bad.
Max: In Asia, e -sports has long been considered already as a sport. There, pro are considered stars, there they teach this matter, there is television that shows the games of the team around the clock. They have another mentality. Other living conditions. I think someday we will come to this.
Tell us more about your participation on WOGL.
Peter: It was not even a tournament, but something like Ladder. In fact, we got there by a happy chance, namely, one of our friends in Canadian localization wrote to me in Xfire that the second season was about to begin. We managed to register at the very last moment. Games in the group went quite smoothly, and already according to the results of the group stage, we walked with the maximum possible number of points in comparison with other groups (there were 8 groups of 5-6 teams).
As a result, we left the group stage with 14 points. At 1/4 of the stage, the team was beaten – PEN15 (on the CEYHAN cards with a score of 14:10 and Eagle Eye 14: 9). Having won the quarter -finals, we already felt a certain self -confidence, a surge of strength.
In the semifinals met with a more serious team – Vital DXE, confidently won 2-0 on cards (11: 9 and 14: 7).
In the finale, we were waiting for the heavier rival, Connexx. In the heavy struggle, we prevailed – 2: 1 (Mexico cards 13:11, Port 8: 9, Ceyhan 14: 8).
Summing up our performance, we can say with confidence that the most tense game for us over the past six months was, of course, the final game of this league. It was extremely important for us to win and raise the prestige of Russian teams on Western localization, and we did it.
Sergey: I would like to add that we already knew the final games a week before what game cards we would play and prepared them. Well, our efforts were not in vain. As a result, we won the tournament and in fact we can be considered the best team of Europe.
Honoring the winners following the results of the Two Cities tournament.
How do you like the idea of holding the Two Capitals tournament?
Peter: There are a lot of emotions. First: Lan-Tornir is always an event, the opportunity to talk with each other, talk to other teams. Second: Lan-Tornires put points over I. Third: gets better from time to time. The tournament was held in one of the best clubs in Moscow-“Click-Net”-which, however, lost positions, and quite strongly.
Max: The tournament went well … Actually, about the tournament itself. Click-Net club, one might say, is one of the best Moscow clubs. He himself was there quite often, to Cross Fire. Played in CS 1.6 from Saturday to Sunday at night, 5×5. It was very cool. Especially when you go at 6 in the morning at the club and watch how people sleep – then on the clavs, then in chairs fell apart.
The atmosphere was unforgettable. I met all my friends that I communicate with online. We talked, laughed. In principle, the tournament was held great.
But the prize fund is, of course, yes … Our player Varia spent 10 thousand rubles to get to Moscow, and the cooler received the prize as a prize. I got headphones, basements – power supply. Ikram, having arrived from St. Petersburg, also spending rather big money, received a keyboard. Hilka is also a cooler.
Sergey: The tournament was held with a bang. There were many interesting people who could talk to, get to know each other. Everyone liked the atmosphere. The prizes https://sister-site.org/rhino-bet/ were terrible, but still-thanks to Thermaltake, which provided them.
If you get to WCG, which will be more significant for you to win: what you represent Russia, or personal ambitions?
Peter: I think that according to the results it will be a certain amount. And what we play for Russia, and the fact that we (!) We can win wcg.
Max: To be honest, mentally I have already won a quota for the world WCG. For me it will be an incentive – the money that we may be given at WCG selection. If there is no money, there will be no incentive. At the moment, our team is thinking about leaving CROSS Fire into a more profitable project, since the prizes of tournaments are leaving the best.
Sergey: I think we will represent Russia. Well, for an incentive, you need some salary!
Finally I would like to know if you see yourself in the game in 10 years?
Peter: Let's see after 10 years.
Max: I think yes, but not like a cyber end, if you can call it that. And as an ordinary person, going after work for a couple of hours in some game.
