Story
Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers a private investigator’s call and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation of a nursing home
Michael Schur was inspired to create «A Man On the Inside» after watching the Chilean documentary «The Mole Agent.» He says, «The Mole Agent» is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar, regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, and I would describe that feeling in a very reductive way: «I need to call my mom.» In our show, we tried to do a similar thing with the tone: Basically, does our show promote the feeling of wanting to call our moms?
Remake of the movie The Mole Agent (2020)
I’m not a big watcher, but we crushed the entire season on the first night.
It has the right mix of warm, funny, sad and deep with a story line that keeps you hooked
Ted Danson is great of course but Stephanie Beatriz (Diaz in 99) is amazing and her character is someone you want to spend all your time with.
A solid eight out of ten for me, one for all ages and who knows, hopefully a second season
It is set in San Francisco which of course helps with my rating but most of all even though it is very sad at times it is a comedy and it gives you hope for the future as we all get older a little.
