The prequel to the original Dune tells the story of how the Rossak Brotherhood evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using the voice is from one called ‘Mentats of Dune’. All three books interweave the development of the Brotherhood, the Mentats, the Navigators and the Bitch Doctors.
Without depth, conversations are sometimes pretty cheesy
I knew it couldn’t be as good as the movies, but I didn’t expect it to be so… mediocre. For a second I thought it was an Amazon production, not HBO.
No real special effects, it looks a bit low budget
It’s not the right casting choice for some roles; Not because the actors are bad, but they just don’t fit the role. A lot happens in the first episode and jumps from one scene to another as if they are running. Some scenes also make me wonder why they even bothered to do them.
I really hope it gets better
I’m not sure what camera they used, but the scenes look very simple.
