Katie, a freelance video editor desperate for work, receives a well-paid offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and bizarre video. Short on money and facing eviction, Katie willingly accepts the job. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera – it’s definitely just a cleverly staged fiction. But when the first job leads to even more lucrative contracts and even more disturbing snuff films, Katie’s life begins to fall apart. Strange figures in her apartment, terrifying nightmares keep her awake, and a mysterious illness plagues her cat. It’s only when Katie decides to quit her job for good that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer really is and what bloody measures she herself is prepared to take to get out of the contract.
